Lio, El Nido
Japanese minimalist meets tropical rainforest. Clean lines, premium hardwood floors, Nespresso machines and SMEG kettles beside open jungle views. Quiet, design-forward, and deliberately low-key in a destination that can get rowdy.
Request a 3rd-floor room to get the automatic curtains — a genuinely useful perk in the tropics.
Why It Matters
Piece Hotel Japan's inaugural international outpost. Michelin Guide 2025 recognized. Rooms are dramatically larger than the local standard (most El Nido hotels run 18–22 sqm). The 5-meter floor-to-ceiling windows in select studios are billed as unique in the Philippines — guests have reported watching monkeys in the jungle from bed.
Piece Lio is a Japanese-designed boutique condotel inside Ayala Land's Lio Tourism Estate — a 325-hectare master-planned eco-community right on the edge of El Nido's protected waters. It's the Piece Hotel Group's first property outside Japan, managed on the ground by H Hospitality Group, and the combination actually works. The rooms are genuinely spacious (50 to 150 sqm), the architecture lets the jungle come inside through floor-to-ceiling windows that reportedly reach five meters tall, and the place earned a Michelin Guide 2025 listing, which is no small thing for this corner of Palawan.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Arranged through the affiliated H Hospitality Travel & Tour agency (hhospitality.tours). The hotel concierge facilitates bookings to El Nido's famous island clusters, lagoons, and limestone formations. Smaller group sizes are noted by guests compared to the standard tourist boats.
Lio Beach is a short walk from the property — a 4-kilometer stretch within the Lio Tourism Estate with clear, calm water. The Lio Beach Activity Hut at the estate offers kayak, SUP board, and bamboo bike rentals.
The surrounding Lio Estate offers an eco-forest trail, wetlands guided tours, artisan village (Kalye Artisano), shops, spas, and multiple dining options — all walkable or reachable within the estate.
The hotel's complimentary shuttle runs guests to El Nido town for dining, shopping, and the town's island-hopping terminals, plus to Nacpan Beach — one of Asia's most acclaimed stretches of sand, about 45 minutes by road.
The on-site outdoor pool is the social hub of the property. Set within the tropical garden, open year-round.
