Why It Matters
Named for the Anasazi people who built the Southwest's distinctive cliff dwellings, the hotel was reportedly blessed by an Anasazi medicine man and crystals are said to be buried within its walls and ceilings. Chef Cristian Pontiggia won Chef of the Year in New Mexico in 2023 from the NM Restaurant Association. The Anasazi Bar's Silver Coin margarita has become a Santa Fe institution in its own right.
One of the most central hotels in Santa Fe — sitting half a block from the historic Plaza — yet it somehow doesn't feel like a downtown hotel. The traditional pueblo-style construction, hand-painted carved-wood entry doors, sandstone walls, and ancestral textiles make it feel more like a living museum than a Rosewood property. Originally conceived as an independent hotel named for the ancient civilization behind the region's cliff dwellings, it was designed from day one to offer a culturally genuine New Mexican experience. Rosewood took it over and layered in the brand's luxury polish while keeping the Southwestern soul intact.

The hotel's flagship suite, available in one- and two-bedroom configurations. A foyer opens onto a lounge and dining area. There's a kiva fireplace to cozy up to. The suite also has a private parlor that doubles as an event or hospitality space. It's quiet, spacious, and the most immersive expression of the property's Southwestern character.
KingDeluxe King
The Deluxe King step-up in the guestroom tier, designed in the same Southwestern spirit as the other rooms with handcrafted furnishings, traditional wood ceilings, and a kiva fireplace.
KingJunior Suite
The entry-level suite, combining natural tones, thoughtful accents, and upscale amenities in a residential-feeling space that draws on Santa Fe's artistic heritage. More room to spread out than the standard guestrooms, with a sitting area.

Same footprint as the Superior King at 370 sq ft, but adds a convertible sofa bed — handy for families or a traveling companion. Warm Southwestern style throughout: kiva fireplace, viga-and-latilla ceiling, handcrafted furnishings, local art.

Each Superior King is unique in its layout — no two are identical — but all share the same warm Southwestern character: authentic local art, handcrafted furnishings, indigenous textiles, a traditional wooden ceiling of vigas and latillas, and a gaslit kiva fireplace. At 370 sq ft, these are not large rooms by luxury hotel standards, but they're well-designed and cozy.
