Why It Matters
First and foremost, the location: a genuinely secluded bay that avoids the crowds of Tonsai, with direct access to world-class snorkelling right off the beach. The Marine Discovery Centre — Thailand's first of its kind — breeds baby sharks and clownfish on-site and connects the whole resort to meaningful conservation. It's also the best base for reaching Maya Bay (45 minutes by boat), which officially reopened to visitors with strict conservation rules.
SAii Phi Phi Island Village sits on an 800-metre stretch of private beach in Loh Ba Gao Bay on the quieter northeast coast of Koh Phi Phi Don. The resort spreads across 70 acres of coconut palm plantations — thatched-roof bungalows and villas scattered through the trees, with 12 exclusive hillside pool villas perched above it all.
