ayutthaya
Minimalist design boutique hotel in an ancient setting. Cool, art-forward, and quiet. Think concrete walls and temple views rather than tropical lushness.

Why It Matters
One of the very few upscale lodging options in Ayutthaya, designed by award-winning Bangkok studio Onion. Michelin Guide-listed. The positioning — with Wat Phutthaisawan dead ahead — is genuinely hard to beat. All rooms include freestanding soaking tubs, and some have private pools.
sala ayutthaya sits on the Pasak River, directly across the water from Wat Phutthaisawan — a Buddhist temple built in 1353, its Khmer-style tower on permanent display from your soaking tub, the restaurant terrace, and the rooftop bar. Bangkok studio Onion designed the place, and the aesthetic is unapologetically modern: polished concrete floors, whitewashed and exposed brick walls, Marshall speakers, Nespresso machines. The pool is deliberately tucked away in a quiet white courtyard, shielded from the street, which means the first time you find it feels like a genuine discovery. Some guests love the raw concrete look; others find it a touch austere.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The all-white tiled courtyard pool is one of the hotel's most-photographed features. Framed by whitewashed and exposed brick walls, it sits at the heart of the property. Small but striking. Open daily 8am–8pm; food and drink service available 10am–7pm. Exclusively for registered guests.
The hotel provides a neighbourhood guide covering major Ayutthaya attractions including Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Mahathat, Ayothaya Floating Market, and more. Staff can arrange tuk tuk transport.
The hotel's Gallery displays rotating installations from talented regional artists, with exhibitions changing every three months. It is built into the lobby area and open daily — a genuinely local touch in the middle of the hotel.
The hotel arranges curated tours of Ayutthaya's UNESCO World Heritage ruins: cycling through archaeological sites, exploring temples by tuk tuk, or gliding along the Chao Phraya River by boat. Book your preferred tour at checkout or via the front desk.
