Why It Matters
The Salzano family built a standout restaurant and spa at a 3-star hotel price point. The kitchen has 15 GaultMillau points and runs an ambitious 'Alpine natural experience cuisine' tasting menu (3 to 7 courses, CHF 95–165) using hyper-local ingredients foraged from the surrounding Bernese Oberland. The 450 sqm spa — with four saunas including an old-wood sauna with direct Eiger views and an outdoor panoramic jacuzzi — was conceived and interior-designed entirely by the owners.
A family-run 3-star superior hotel, spa, and restaurant on the outskirts of Interlaken-Unterseen, set beside the 18-hole Interlaken Golf Course with views straight up to the Eiger North Face. Sonja and Patrizio Salzano bought the property in 1994 and have run it with their two sons ever since — renaming it SALZANO in 2016. The restaurant holds 15 GaultMillau points and won Best of Swiss Gastro Fine Dining in 2019. The 450-square-metre spa, built and designed by the owners themselves in 2013, is the undisputed heart of the place.

South-facing suite with direct views of the Eiger North Face, Schynige Platte, and the Niesen. Separate living and sleeping areas, two bathrooms (one with shower/WC, one with bathtub), and a large balcony with seating and deck chair. Notably, this is the only room type with air conditioning — a real practical advantage in summer.

Apartment Eigerblick
The biggest and most spacious option at 75 sqm. Elegant and well-equipped with a full living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and terrace. Great for longer stays or those who want apartment-style independence with hotel services.

A 45 sqm apartment on the 1st floor of the annexe building. One room has a small kitchen with a sitting area. The balcony looks over the garden and out to the Niesen, Schynige Platte, and the Eiger. Good value apartment option.

Standard double rooms with either a south-facing street view of the Eiger North Face or a north-facing garden view toward Harder mountain and the Habkern valley. Some rooms have laminate flooring, some are carpeted. Good value entry point to the hotel.

Cozy with alpine charm and balcony. Warm colours and lots of wood — a step up in comfort from Classic, with the same mountain-view balcony setup. Individually furnished.
DoubleNatura Room
The most popular room category at SALZANO. Each one is individually designed — some feature beds crafted from 200-year-old bog oak, others have Swiss-quality box spring beds. Rustic oak parquet flooring, lots of wood and fine fabrics throughout. Rooms face south toward the Eiger North Face or north toward the Harder, Habkern valley, and Beatenberg, all with a balcony.

Multi-day e-bike rental arranged through the hotel as part of the E-bike Tour package (from CHF 998 for 3 nights including 2-day rental). Independent e-bike charging is also available in the hotel basement.
The 18-hole championship golf course is directly adjacent to the hotel — 500 m from the front door. The hotel was originally built as a tearoom for golfers in the 1960s. Guests can walk over for a round.
The hotel provides excursion vouchers as part of several packages and can prepare packed lunches for hike days. The area connects to trails up to Harder Kulm, Schynige Platte, and the Jungfrau region.
