San Montano Resort & SPA
Serene and sprawling — Mediterranean garden-villa meets volcanic wellness retreat. Pastel tones, ceramic tile floors, lemon groves, and live piano at sunset. Elegant but not stuffy. Families return year after year.
Book Franco's for lunch — it's the gourmet terrace with the clearest view over Negombo Bay and tables are limited
Why It Matters
It holds the distinction of Ischia's only spa with a direct sea view. The thermal pool complex — 11 pools ranging from the 420 sqm Aenaria main pool to intimate jacuzzis carved into bare rock — is entirely fed by the island's volcanic springs. The Lighthouse Suite at the top of the promontory offers a 360° panorama of the Gulf of Naples from an 800 sqm private garden.
San Montano perches on the top of Monte Vico on Ischia's northern tip, surrounded by three hectares of Mediterranean garden and commanding unobstructed views over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, and on clear days, the Pontine Islands. It's a 5-star resort with 11 thermal pools fed by volcanic springs, owned by the De Siano family and a proud member of Relais & Châteaux. The whole property operates like a small thermal village — you can spend four days here without once feeling the need to leave.
