Scandic Paasi opened in August 2012 inside the historic Paasitorni Congress and Meeting Centre complex in Helsinki's Siltasaari district. The building itself is relatively understated from the outside — but step into the lobby and it's a full-on circus: red carpets, rainbow-colored wooden slats on the ceilings, harlequin-pattern walls, and brass-and-mirror surfaces everywhere. Rooms carry on three distinct design themes drawn from the area's history — Finnish boxing, a 19th-century circus, and a more restrained 'Conscious' modernist palette. With 170 rooms across 6 floors, it punches well above its chain-hotel weight.

The top-floor suite — 85m² of full-on Spectacular circus grandeur. Separate bedroom and living room, a full kitchenette, a dining table for six, and a private sauna. Views in two directions. A generously sized 30–49m² room in the circus Spectacular theme. Fits up to 4 guests. Some have a private sauna. All come with a kitchenette and a dining table for four. Good for longer stays or families.
40 sqmSpectacular Room
Rooms in the Spectacular circus theme — think mirrored nightstands, zebra-print chairs, and bright, saturated fabrics. Sizes range 17–30m². Wide bed, bathrobes, slippers. Some have a bathtub. The decor is the draw here.
24 sqmStandard Room
The entry-level rooms, decorated in either the Conscious or Leisure theme. Leisure rooms feature an actual red punching bag as part of the decor — it's a genuine design statement, not a gimmick. Some rooms have a private balcony. All have flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, air conditioning, and FACE Stockholm toiletries.
20 sqmSuperior Leisure Sauna Room
One of the hotel's standout offerings. A 21–25m² room in the Leisure boxing theme, with its own private sauna, a private balcony, bathrobes and slippers. It's a properly Finnish hotel experience — steam in the sauna, then step out onto the balcony.
23 sqmSuperior Plus Conscious Room
A larger room (26–30m²) in the Conscious theme for up to 4 guests. Includes a bathtub, bathrobes, and a private balcony. Good choice for families or those wanting more breathing room.
28 sqmSuperior Room
