Sela is a 14-room Lanna-Colonial country house hotel in Chiang Mai's rural Hang Dong district, about 30 minutes south of the old city. It's owned by a Thai couple who spent 12 years in Europe and brought that sensibility back home — the building reads like a colonial-era mansion crossed with a Chiang Mai woodcarver's dream, filled with antique lacquerware, silk, and porcelain sourced from Thailand, Burma, China, and India. Named after either the Ob Khan National Park or the adjacent Pagoda temple, these are Sela's flagship rooms. KingStandard Room
The entry-level rooms at Sela are still anything but standard by usual measures.
