Singer Palace Hotel Roma
Contemporary Italian glamour with Art Deco bones. Think greige walls, dark parquet floors, sculptural lamps, colourful accent pillows, and Carrara marble bathrooms. Interior designer Elisa Ferrari turned it into what Global Traveler calls a 'private city estate.' Small, deliberate, and personal — nothing about it feels like a chain hotel.

Why It Matters
Earned a Michelin Key. Originally the European headquarters of the Singer Corporation — some suites still look over the hidden baroque Oratorio del Caravita. One of the few Rome hotels with a genuinely great rooftop setup: two levels, 360-degree views, a proper restaurant (Le Terrazze) and a cocktail bar (Jim's) with a 1920s-inspired drinks menu. Freelance historian tours led exclusively for hotel guests make the cultural programming stand out.
Singer Palace Hotel Roma is a 29-room, family-owned boutique hotel housed in a 1930s palazzo that once served as the Italian headquarters of the Singer sewing machine empire. The Visocchi family reopened it as a five-star hotel in 2018, preserving the original Art Deco floating marble staircase and adding vintage sewing machines as lobby art alongside a Picasso-esque reception desk. It sits right on Via del Corso, Rome's main shopping strip, with the Trevi Fountain 350 metres away and the Pantheon a five-minute walk. Rooms are quiet despite the central location — soundproofed walls do their job.
