Why It Matters

First Soho House in the southern US, designed by Lake Flato Architects with interiors by Soho House Design. Awarded a 2025 Michelin Guide key and the 2023 IIDA Texas Oklahoma Best in Show award. The art collection spans from museum-level artists like Deborah Roberts to emerging Texas talent. Dante's HiFi+ — a high-fidelity vinyl listening bar with vintage Klipschorn speakers and a 1960s McIntosh tube amplifier — is the kind of room that has no equivalent in a conventional hotel.

Soho House Austin is the brand's first club in the southern US, sitting above the Music Lane shopping district on South Congress. Three floors of Texas modernism meet Spanish-colonial design — limewash walls, terracotta tiles, sisal rugs, copper bathtubs in the bigger rooms, and a rooftop pool lined with cacti. The 46 bedrooms are open only to Soho House members or Soho Friends subscribers (a $130/year entry-level membership), and the club spaces require membership too. But the Michelin-key-awarded property pulls off something rare: a brand-new building that genuinely feels like it has age and soul.
