Why It Matters
Winner of the SA State Architecture Awards (architect John Adam), listed as top of the Australian Travel and Indulgence hotel list on opening in 2013. The only place in Australia where you can stay in a Balinese-themed villa and take a hands-on cooking class 50 metres from your front door. Ranked in the top six food experiences in Australia by The Weekend Australian.
Three architecturally designed villas sitting behind the celebrated Sticky Rice Cooking School in the Adelaide Hills village of Stirling, just 18km from the CBD. Each villa takes its cues from a different Asian aesthetic — Balinese, Japanese, and Thai — with serious kitchens, soaking baths, private walled courtyards, and floor-to-ceiling glass throughout. The cooking school connection is the real draw: book a weekend class, have a chef cook dinner in your villa, or just use the space to disappear for a few nights.

Included as part of the Spring Discount Package — a local Adelaide Hills cellar door wine tasting experience. The Hills wine region surrounds the property.
Hands-on group classes led by professional chefs covering a rotating roster of Asian (Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian), Spanish, and Moroccan cuisines. Classes run all year round and include lunch or dinner on the dishes you've prepared, with South Australian wines. Class sizes are small, typically working in groups of four around shared benches.
A personal chef comes to your villa and cooks a gourmet dinner in your own Jag kitchen. Available Monday to Thursday. Included in the Private Chef Package ($1,215/couple for 1 night).
A one-on-one cooking lesson delivered directly in your villa kitchen — a more intimate format than the group school classes. Popular midweek option for couples.
One of Australia's great long-distance walking trails runs directly past the property area. Day-walk sections through the Adelaide Hills from Stirling are popular with guests.
The Bali Villa courtyard includes a dedicated outdoor yoga and meditation space within the private walled garden.
