Lisboa
Sophisticated residential — think stylish friend's townhouse rather than a corporate hotel. Eclectic, colourful, distinctly Portuguese with strong Italian dining credentials downstairs.
Book a Sublime Suite to get the private outdoor terrace — yoga and massages can be arranged up there
Why It Matters
One of the rare small luxury hotels in Lisbon that actually delivers on its name. The Davvero restaurant has become a genuine city destination in its own right. Rooms are all individually designed; no two are alike. The hotel carries a Michelin Guide listing and was awarded 4 Ristoranti Best Restaurant in the City Center by Sky Television.
A 20th-century Amoreiras townhouse turned into a 15-room luxury boutique hotel, Sublime Lisboa sits quietly in one of Lisbon's more residential, less tourist-trampled neighbourhoods. The original staircase, period mouldings, and central atrium still feel like a small private palace — and the local designers have layered in bold geometric wallpaper, velvet sofas, and eclectic artworks without losing any of that character. The building has a genuinely interesting past: it was Lisbon's Japanese Club in the 1940s, and later a gathering spot for international jet-setters including Audrey Hepburn and Diane Von Furstenberg.
