Why It Matters
Part of a four-hotel group run by local owner Ali Yavuz (known as 'Kelebek Ali'), Sultan Cave is the flagship upscale property in the group. The on-site Seten Anatolian Restaurant earned recognition in the Michelin Guide 2026. The rooftop is one of the most-photographed sunrise spots in Turkey. Sultan Cave Suites sits on a terraced hillside at the top of Aydinli Hill, perched above the village of Göreme. The 35 rooms are carved directly into ancient cave dwellings — original stone walls preserved and woven into the room designs, arched doorways intact. The rooftop is arguably the most famous sunrise spot in all of Cappadocia: come 5am, hundreds of hot air balloons drift past eye level while you're still in your robe.

Seven rooms (211, 306, 308, 310, 315, 316, 319). The most affordable option at Sultan Cave. Standard fittings — flat-screen TV with satellite, mini fridge, tea and coffee, private bathroom with hairdryer. Rooms can feel compact and are on the darker side (no skylights), but the hotel's terraces and common areas more than compensate.

Fairy Chimney Suite
Two rooms (210, 201) carved directly into the iconic fairy chimney rock formations — the mushroom-capped natural pillars Cappadocia is known for. Queen bed, shower, fireplace. No bathtub, but the novelty of sleeping inside a fairy chimney is real. Some rooms have skylights cut into the rock.

Three rooms in this category (312, 318, 304). Stone rooms with landscape views and shared terrace access. King bed, bathtub, shower, fireplace. Solid choice — the bathtub and fireplace combination makes them feel genuinely romantic without paying top-of-house prices.
KingPasha Suite (Room 311)
Stone room with landscape views and a private balcony — one of the few rooms with its own outdoor space. King bed, bathtub, fireplace, and espresso machine. A step down from the Sultan Suite but frankly a better pick for anyone who values that private balcony over a jacuzzi.
