Why It Matters
Designed by Medellín architecture firm Plan:b (Felipe and Federico Mesa), the building pierces an entire city block in El Poblado, creating a public pedestrian crossing, internal courtyard park, and multiple semi-public spaces. The concept — hotel as urban epicentre — means local residents use it as freely as guests. The hotel's own internal creative team, Click Clack Lab, handled all interior design, art direction, and guest experience design.
A boldly designed boutique hotel in El Poblado's Provenza neighborhood, built by Colombian architects Plan:b in a Brutalist style — matte-grey and black steel exterior, crossing girders, concrete forms — that deliberately contrasts with the lush tropical greenery spilling through its open courtyards and lobby. Inside: playful Dada-esque rooms, five distinct restaurants, lobby slides, a rooftop pool with Aburra Valley views, and a dedicated creative lab that treats the hotel as a cultural platform for the city. Completed in 2019–2020, it's one of the most architecturally significant hotels in Colombia.
