Why It Matters
Calgary's only One MICHELIN Key hotel, with The Wilde on 27 holding the DiRōNA Award three consecutive years (2024, 2025, 2026) and named a Top 50 Hotel Restaurant in Canada. The Mark of the Craft lobby installation — a living digital portrait of Dorian Gray shaped by anonymous guest confessions — won Autograph Collection's Most Creative Mark of the Craft of the Year in 2023. The hotel was the first hospitality venture for developer Patricia Phillips of PBA Group.
Opened in 2022, The Dorian is Calgary's only Michelin Key hotel and the city's most stylish downtown address. The entire property is built around Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray — think bold Art Deco meets Victorian flourish, with peacock feathers on the beds, houndstooth rugs (a nod to developer Patricia Phillips' father's favourite suit), and a lobby digital portrait that grows more grotesque the more guests confess their sins via QR code. The 28-floor tower holds 137 rooms, two signature restaurants, and a rooftop bar on the 27th floor with views that make Calgary look genuinely spectacular.

Robes, slippers, and Aēsop bath products in the bathroom. A copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray waits on the nightstand.

Same layout and amenities as the King Guest Room, but positioned for views over the Calgary skyline. Worth the upgrade if you want to wake up to the city spread out below. The floor placement matters — higher floors give you more of the Rockies in the distance on clear days.

Nearly 700 sq ft with a separate bedroom and a proper living room — this is the room to book if you want to spread out. The living area has purple chairs and a wet bar setup; the bedroom has the same bold boutique décor as the standard rooms. The bathroom steps up to a soaking tub alongside the walk-in shower. Good for couples celebrating something or anyone who just wants to live like Dorian Gray for a night.
