A former 1950s roadside motel on South Coast Highway, fully reimagined by two surfer-owners who kept stumbling across it on their way between Oceanside and Carlsbad. The result: 12 individually designed rooms with Moroccan rugs, custom art by local artists, and mid-century modern furnishings — surf-minimalist white interiors with flat black exteriors. No lobby, no restaurant, no pool. But a cedar hot tub, a communal fire pit, complimentary surfboards and beach cruisers, and some of the most interesting boutique dining in SoCal within walking distance.
