Why It Matters
This is where it all started. The original Hoxton Shoreditch launched in 2006 and essentially invented the model of affordable-but-cool boutique hotels that dozens of brands have since tried to copy. The 2025 refurbishment updated the rooms while keeping the industrial East London character intact.
The original Hoxton, open since 2006 and fully refurbished in 2025, sits squarely in Shoreditch — East London's long-running creative heartland. There's no pool, no spa, no gym on the premises. What there is: 210 smartly done rooms with parquet floors, a rooftop Peruvian restaurant with actual city views, and a neighborhood full of street art, independent restaurants, and the Columbia Road Flower Market on Sundays.

Three Pisco Sours for £8 at the rooftop Llama Inn bar. Runs Sunday through Friday, 3pm–6pm. A solid pre-dinner move.
