Hoxton, Southwark
Post-industrial lifestyle hotel with a social-club feel. The lobby doubles as a co-working space and neighbourhood hangout, with plants, books and velvet furniture softening the concrete edges. Not a traditional hotel in the least — expect walk-ins grabbing coffee at Albie next to guests checking in.
Snag an outdoor table at Seabird by arriving before 7pm — outside seats are first-come, first-served and go fast on warm evenings
Why It Matters
Purpose-built Hoxton, so rooms are notably more spacious than the group's conversions. Seabird claims London's longest oyster list and draws non-guests from across the city. Green Key certified for sustainability. The only Hoxton with no prior life as another building.
The Hoxton, Southwark is the group's only purpose-built hotel in London — a 14-storey new-build brick tower that opened in 2019, with guest rooms occupying the lower six floors. The house style is post-industrial: concrete ceilings, Crittall-style windows and bare brick walls offset by marble surfaces, panelled headboards, parquet floors and local art curated by Jealous Gallery. The real draw is Seabird on the 14th floor — a rooftop seafood restaurant with panoramic views of the Shard, London Eye and Houses of Parliament that operates as a genuine neighbourhood destination, not just a hotel restaurant.
