The Hythe is the result of a $40 million reinvention of what was once the Marriott Vail Mountain Resort — a 343-room property in Lionshead Village, about a 5-minute walk from the Eagle Bahn Gondola. The lobby sets a confident tone with locally quarried calacatta marble floors, carved black stone, and Douglas fir panels. Rooms run warm and mountain-forward: gray tones, natural wood, clean lines. It's big (7 stories, 343 units), but the social energy in the lobby bar and outdoor fire pits keeps it from feeling anonymous.
