Julius Prague
Contemporary luxury aparthotel. Warm, earthy tones — autumnal colours, natural materials, brass details. Italian-inspired design language courtesy of Matteo Thun. Sedate and residential rather than flashy. The kind of place that rewards slow, longer stays.

Why It Matters
Julius Meinl's first foray into hotels, designed by Matteo Thun & Partners. Holds a MICHELIN Key (2025), Green Key eco-label, and HOTELSTARS certification. The apartment-style layout — full kitchens, separate living areas, generous proportions — is unusually practical for a city-centre luxury property. The adjacent House of Julius Meinl Gourmet Shop is a genuine bonus.
The Julius Prague is the debut hotel from the Julius Meinl family — the Viennese coffee and hospitality dynasty with 160 years of heritage behind them. The building is neo-renaissance, the interiors are by Milanese firm Matteo Thun & Partners, and the result is 168 spacious residences that feel more like well-appointed apartments than hotel rooms. It opened in July 2022 and earned a MICHELIN Key in 2025 — a meaningful endorsement for a first-time hotelier. The pitch is genuinely good: luxury finishes, full kitchens in most room types, and a calm that makes extended stays genuinely practical.
