The Manor Hotel
Zen urban resort. Clean lines, natural materials, serene garden setting. Feels like a well-designed private home rather than a hotel lobby. Design-forward but grounded in Indian craftsmanship.
Book a Signature Room or Studio Suite on the ground floor for a private veranda opening directly onto the garden — worth the upgrade over upper-floor rooms.
Why It Matters
New Delhi's first design hotel and the former home of Indian Accent, India's most celebrated restaurant. Now houses INJA, billed as the world's first Indian-Japanese fusion fine dining restaurant — a genuine concept, not just a marketing claim. Only 14 rooms means it never feels crowded. Press coverage from the Telegraph, Condé Nast Traveller India, The Guardian, Sunday Times, Newsweek, and the New York Times.
Delhi's original boutique design hotel, built in the 1950s and set on nearly an acre of garden in the quiet, tree-lined South Delhi enclave of Friends Colony. After a full gut renovation completed in 2019 under an international design team, the two-storey property reopened with 14 rooms, three distinct dining venues, and a zen aesthetic built from terrazzo floors, natural stone, rich wood, and locally sourced fabrics. It's the kind of place where the city's chaos genuinely feels far away — even though Humayun's Tomb is just 4 km down the road. For years it was synonymous with Indian Accent, once ranked India's best restaurant; that chapter closed in 2017, but the food here is still very much the point.
