The Memphian
Maximalist, art-forward, Hollywood Regency meets Wes Anderson — moody rich textures, vibrant colors, chandeliers, brass accents, and local artwork around every corner. Feels more like a collector's townhouse than a hotel.

Why It Matters
One of the most design-forward hotels in Memphis, with a curated collection of local art, a zodiac-themed rooftop bar with a hand-painted constellation ceiling, a fishing-bobber lobby chandelier, and creative packages like in-suite caviar tastings and vintage shopping tours with a local expert.
The Memphian opened in May 2021 in Midtown Memphis's Overton Square arts district, and it wears its personality loudly. This is a 106-room boutique hotel with a 2,000-square-foot lobby anchored by a fishing-bobber chandelier, a baby grand piano, and so much local artwork that the walls barely have room to breathe. Think early 20th-century glamour colliding with a maximalist gallery — curated by artist Mary Loeb with contributions from 15+ local artists. Upstairs on the seventh floor, the Tiger & Peacock rooftop bar pours zodiac-themed cocktails under a hand-painted constellation ceiling. Part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio and the Tablet Hotels collection, it earns points on Bonvoy.
