Shanghai's first luxury urban resort, opened in 2009 and still one of the city's most refined addresses. The 26-floor tower sits on the edge of Jing'An Park in the heart of the JingAn district — the park is the whole point, giving rooms genuine green breathing room in one of the world's densest cities. The design is rooted in Chinese materiality: dark local timber, cast bronze, grey Shanghai brick, handmade stone. It's not the flashiest hotel in the city, but it's one of the most considered.
