The Revolution Hotel is a 177-room art-forward boutique hotel in Boston's South End, opened in 2018 inside a former YWCA building that was given a full renovation by architects Prellwitz Chilinski Associates. The building's mid-century modernist bones get a loud, contemporary treatment: a 65-foot spray-paint mural by artist Tristan Eaton dominates the lobby, and a towering three-story 'Innovation Tower' sculpture — made from typewriters, fans, telephones, shoes, and sewing machines — winds up through the grand staircase. Rooms run small (some just 115 sq ft), but they're sharp and the price point is genuinely refreshing for a city where budget hotels usually mean beige.

Queen or KingBath: Down the Hall — Four Twins (Quad)
Four twin beds in one room — ideal for groups traveling together on a budget. Still uses the private single-occupant hall bathrooms. One of the more unusual configurations you'll find in a city hotel.
Four Twin BedsBath: Down the Hall — King
The hotel's entry-level category and honestly the most interesting concept on the floor plan. Rooms run 115-150 sq ft — tight, but designed with intention. You share no bathroom with any other guest: each floor has 10 private single-occupant restrooms (toilet, vanity, shower) just down the hall. Soft robes, slippers, in-room safe, and high-speed Wi-Fi are included. Select rooms have South End or skyline views.
KingBath: Down the Hall — King + Twin (Triple)
Same concept as the King Down the Hall but configured with an additional twin bed — good for three travelers or a parent with a child. Still uses the private hall bathrooms. Bold design, compact footprint.

Same footprint as the King In-Room but with a queen bed. Private en-suite bath, down comforters, flat-screen TV. A solid choice if you prefer the privacy of an en-suite but don't need the larger loft-style rooms.
QueenRevolution Loft
These are a different beast entirely. Located across the street from the main hotel in an actual South End brownstone, Lofts run 230-290 sq ft and come with a kitchenette stocked with cookware, plates, and essentials. Private en-suite bath, ultra-premium bedding, South End views, flat-screen TV, and a feeling of actually living in the neighborhood rather than just sleeping in it.

The largest rooms on offer, running 380-528 sq ft with one king bed. In-room bath, South End views. Select suites include a kitchenette with cookware and plates, plus a living area with a pull-out couch — making them viable for longer stays or families.
