The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah
Grand palatial with Moorish and Corinthian architectural flourishes, former royal guesthouse turned conference powerhouse. Ornate, historic, and formal — Saudi hospitality at its most ceremonial.
Room 912 offers a direct sightline to the King Fahad Fountain — worth requesting at booking
Why It Matters
Once a royal guesthouse connected to the King Abdullah International Convention Centre, it carries genuine palace credentials. It holds the Michelin Key 'Selected' designation, hosts the city's largest convention space, and occupies one of Jeddah's best Corniche positions with direct Red Sea views.
This former Saudi royal guesthouse carries a history most luxury hotels can't replicate. The building served as a royal palace before opening to paying guests in 2017, and the architecture makes that clear — Moorish arches, Corinthian columns, and crystal chandeliers the size of small cars dominate soaring public spaces. It sits directly on the Al Hamra stretch of Jeddah's Southern Corniche, looking out over the Red Sea with the King Fahad Fountain visible from certain rooms. But look: this is also a serious conference machine. With 83,000 sq ft of event space and capacity for 2,000 people, it's the largest convention venue in Jeddah, and that skews the vibe heavily toward business. The 224 rooms range from 36 sqm Deluxe rooms to a 500 sqm Royal Suite with a 14-seat dining room. No pool. Spa is men only. The decor is unabashedly ornate — some floors are color-themed (yes, including pink) — which divides opinion sharply.
