The Westin Josun Busan
Classic Korean beachfront resort hotel with a quiet, unhurried atmosphere. Understated and well-worn rather than shiny and modern — think institution, not trend-chaser.

Why It Matters
Busan's original five-star property, opened in 1978 and rebranded under Westin. It hosted world leaders during the 2005 APEC Summit and remains the only hotel with true direct frontage on Haeundae Beach. Its location between Dongbaek Island's parkland and the beach gives it views no rival can replicate.
Busan's first five-star hotel, open since 1978, sits at the quieter western tip of Haeundae Beach on Dongbaek Island's parkland spit — which means the ocean is literally two minutes on foot. The building is low-rise and older by the standards of Korea's newest luxury towers, and that's actually the point: wide corridors, solid furniture, and a calm lobby that doesn't try to impress you with its height. Standard rooms run around $200–$250 a night, which frequently undercuts the newer five-stars in the same neighborhood.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The Nurimaru APEC House — the venue that hosted the 2005 APEC Summit — is a three-minute walk from the hotel through Dongbaek Island's pine-scented coastal park. The walking path around the island peninsula is one of the best in Busan.
Westin's gear lending program in partnership with Hyperice (recovery) and Bala (strength training). Equipment available for use during your stay.
Westin's brand-standard running route program, with mapped routes from the hotel through Dongbaek Island and along the Haeundae waterfront.
Direct private access to Haeundae Beach from the hotel's lower level (basement floor). An airbrush station removes sand on the way back in. The hotel sits at the quieter, greener western end of the beach near Dongbaek Island.
The hotel arranges outdoor activity programs on Oryukdo Island, a scenic group of islets about 25 minutes by car. Activities vary by season.
