A 17th-century coaching inn on the old London-to-Bristol route, carefully restored and reopened in 2021 as a 15-room boutique hotel set around a historic Grade II-listed courtyard. Each room is individually designed using traditional fabrics from local suppliers — no two are the same. Small enough to feel genuinely personal, big enough to have a proper all-day café that turns into a cocktail bar come evening.

More spacious than the Cosy rooms but a step below Superior Classic. All en-suite with rainfall showers. Located across ground, first and second floors — a mix of street-facing and courtyard-facing. Cannot accommodate a cot. Good for a two-night city break without breaking the bank.
King
Cosy King
Snug and compact — honest about it in the name. But the design doesn't suffer: same king-size bed, rainfall shower en-suite, and all the room's signature features. Located on ground, first and second floors, some street-facing and some courtyard-facing. Room 3 is the only Cosy King facing the quieter courtyard. Cannot accommodate a cot. Best suited to a single-night stopover.
KingDeluxe King
Spacious rooms with generous proportions and grand en-suites. Both feature a rainfall shower and a freestanding bathtub. Two options: one faces the courtyard on the ground floor, the other faces the street on the third floor (no lift to the third floor). Can accommodate a travel cot for infants under 2.
KingDeluxe King with Roof Terrace
The hotel's largest and most coveted room, on the first floor. Super king bed faces out over the courtyard through high sash windows. A large stone fireplace frames the room. The en-suite has both a rainfall shower and a freestanding bathtub. Step outside onto the hidden rooftop terrace — the only room in the hotel with one. Also has air conditioning. Can accommodate a travel cot for infants under 2.
Super KingSuperior Classic King
More space to spread out than the Classic or Cosy categories, with a little extra room to relax. All en-suite with rainfall showers (no bathtub in this tier). Spread across ground, first, second and third floors — mostly street-facing with one courtyard-facing option. Can accommodate a travel cot for infants under 2. Room 15 at the top of the hotel is a tucked-away option in this category.

The hotel's signature morning ritual. Choose your pastries, fruit, juices, yoghurt and granola the evening before; the hamper is hung on your room door at 8am. Hampers are reusable and contents are packaged in recyclable cardboard and glass. Gluten and dairy-free options available if requested at booking.
The courtyard café transforms into a cocktail bar each evening. Cocktails are made with local gin, Somerset cider and English fizz. Curated wine list and draught beers also available alongside bar nibbles and small plates of local cheese.
