Thompson Savannah opened in July 2021 as the first Thompson Hotels property in Georgia — a sleek, midcentury-modern outpost planted right on the Savannah River in the up-and-coming Eastern Wharf neighborhood. It's got 193 rooms and suites, Savannah's tallest rooftop bar (Bar Julian), a proper Southern restaurant (Fleeting), a sprawling pool deck, and enough style to make the historic district's B&Bs feel a little self-conscious. The location is a bit east of the main squares, so you're trading walkability to the tourist core for a quieter riverside setting and genuinely good food.
