Ash—Bar was named one of Baltimore Magazine's 50 Best Restaurants in 2023. The hotel is a rare example of a genuinely design-driven boutique property in Baltimore, part of the Design Hotels portfolio and bookable on Marriott Bonvoy.
Ulysses lives inside the nine-story Latrobe Building, a 1912 Italian Renaissance Revival structure originally built for wealthy Baltimore bachelors. ASH NYC bought it sight-unseen at foreclosure auction, spent years renovating through the pandemic, and opened it in September 2022 as their fourth hotel. The result is a maximalist fever dream: rooms in four bold color palettes (cerise, citron, jade, azure), hand-beaded Indian lampshades atop flamingo-legged bedside tables, leopard-print carpets, and Baltimore album-style quilts hand-embroidered in Rajasthan.

Il Gattopardo Suite
Named after Visconti's 1963 film, this 450 sq ft suite has a king canopy bed, a dedicated study nook, and a clawfoot tub. It's the most literary-feeling room in the hotel — which, given the competition, is saying something.

The only room with two beds, making it the go-to for friends traveling together. At 307 sq ft it's roomier than either the Classic or Queen. Two canopy beds, a tile bathroom, and the same eclectic design DNA.

Technically smaller than The Classic — this is the tightest room on the property at 180 sq ft. But the design is fully realized: canopy bed, tiled bathroom, and that signature color palette. Works well for a solo traveler who prioritizes location and vibe over space.

A citron (yellow) suite at 508 sq ft with a king canopy bed, seating area, classic bureau, and a clawfoot tub. The warm yellow palette makes this one of the brighter, more optimistic-feeling rooms in the building.
