Canvas Moab
Desert glamping with a safari aesthetic. West Elm furnishings, lululemon yoga mats, EO bath products, and Gibson guitars at evening programming. The vibe leans outdoorsy-aspirational rather than rustic — comfortable without being fussy.
Book the Stargazer tent if stargazing is on the itinerary — the in-tent viewing window is the whole point of staying here vs. driving into town
Why It Matters
One of the world's first DarkSky-certified lodging properties. Named Best Resort Hotel in Utah by Travel + Leisure and a Top 20 Resort in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler. The Stargazer tent category — with a viewing window cut directly above the king bed — is genuinely distinctive. No other accommodation type quite like it at this price point in the Moab area.
Under Canvas Moab sits on 40 acres of red-rock desert, seven miles north of town and about 12 minutes from the Arches National Park entrance. The concept is simple: safari-style canvas tents with real beds, private bathrooms (in most tent categories), and wood-burning stoves — all facing open sky in a DarkSky-certified setting. There's no restaurant, no pool, and no Wi-Fi. That's by design.
