Under Canvas Moab sits on 40 acres of red-rock desert, seven miles north of town and about 12 minutes from the Arches National Park entrance. The concept is simple: safari-style canvas tents with real beds, private bathrooms (in most tent categories), and wood-burning stoves — all facing open sky in a DarkSky-certified setting. There's no restaurant, no pool, and no Wi-Fi. That's by design.

Step up from Safari and you get a private ensuite bathroom — pull-chain shower, sink, and flushing toilet — plus a private deck with lounge chairs. Same king bed and wood-burning stove setup. The deck and private bath make a significant difference for couples. Sleeps up to 2, with an optional camp cot for one child.
KingDeluxe with Kids Tent
All the amenities of the Deluxe — king bed, private ensuite bathroom, wood-burning stove, private deck — plus an adjacent separate kids tent with two twin beds. The kids tent has West Elm bean bag chairs, a Pottery Barn Starry Night light, and its own small porch. Designed for families of four. Keeps the kids close without putting them in the same room.

No private bathroom — the bathhouse (hot showers, flushing toilets, sinks, electrical outlets) is a short walk away. Fine for those who don't mind a 2am stroll; less ideal in cold weather.

Three twin beds instead of a king — designed for friend groups or families with older kids. Same canvas safari style as the standard Safari, with wood-deck flooring and a wood-burning stove. Shared bathhouse facilities nearby. Sleeps three.
Three Twin BedsStargazer Tent
The signature tent at Under Canvas Moab. Everything in the Deluxe, plus a viewing window cut into the roof directly above the king bed. Lie back and watch constellations move across the sky without leaving the warmth of your linens. The DarkSky certification means the surrounding desert is genuinely dark. This is the reason most couples book here over any other option.
KingSuite Tent
The standard family or small-group option. King bed in the bedroom wing, plus a lounge area with a leather queen sofa-bed — room for four adults total. Private ensuite bathroom, private deck, wood-burning stove. One of the more spacious configurations and a solid pick for two couples traveling together.

The biggest family configuration on the property. Full Suite — king bedroom wing, leather queen sofa-bed lounge, private bathroom and deck — plus the adjacent kids tent with two twin beds. Moab's most popular off-road experience. Scale red rock fins on the famous Hell's Revenge trail in a shared Hummer. Spectacular overlook views of the Colorado River and Arches. Guide narrates geology and canyon history. 6.5 miles of driving.

Local musicians play acoustic sets several nights per week at the communal area. String lights overhead, seating in multiple zones — sit close or hang back in one of the hammocks.

As a DarkSky-certified resort, Under Canvas Moab organizes stargazing sessions and star parties. The surrounding desert offers some of the darkest skies in the American Southwest, with Arches and Canyonlands both designated DarkSky Parks.
