Riviera Maya, a Luxury Villa Resort
Intimate, nature-immersive, Mayan-inspired. The jungle sets the tone — thatched roofs, copal smoke, volcanic stone. Adults-only and deliberately small, which keeps it quiet and genuinely private. More eco-retreat than party resort.
Book La Marea for sunset — the restaurant faces the Caribbean and the evening light is the show. Reservations available via CoverManager.
Why It Matters
One of the Riviera Maya's most intimate beachfront properties. Just 41 villas, every single one with a private plunge pool. Michelin 1 Key recognized. The Wayak Spa leans hard into Mayan ritual traditions including Temazcal ceremonies and treatments using melipona honey and volcanic stones. The property also runs a soap concierge — seasonal organic soaps delivered to your villa at arrival.
Forty-one private villas tucked between a Mayan rainforest and a white-sand Caribbean beach. That's the whole deal. There are no hotel towers here, no sprawling convention halls — just a tightly edited enclave 10 km north of Playa del Carmen where every villa comes with its own heated plunge pool, hammock, and outdoor rain shower. The resort holds a Michelin 1 Key designation (2025) and has previously operated as Ikal del Mar and the Tides Riviera Maya before settling under the Viceroy group.
