Why It Matters
The only 5-star hotel in the Sierra Nevada ski resort of Monachil, and one of the highest-elevation luxury hotels in Europe at approximately 2,400 meters. Ski-in/ski-out with a chairlift literally steps from the entrance. You cannot get closer to the slopes in this resort without actually sleeping on them.
Spain's highest-altitude 5-star hotel sits right on the slopes of Sierra Nevada at roughly 2,400 meters — one of the highest-elevation hotels in Europe. The building looks like a giant alpine cabin from the outside: timber, clay, and stone piled up against the mountain. Inside it's proper luxury, with wooden-beamed ceilings, king-size beds, and floor-to-ceiling mountain views. The chairlift is literally at the front door. It's a seasonal property — open December through April only — and that exclusivity is part of the deal.

Junior Suite
Noticeably bigger than the superior rooms — the jump in space is the main reason to upgrade. High ceilings with wooden beams, traditional and rustic furniture with serious quality finishing, private bathroom, and a real sense of the mountain atmosphere that the doubles can only hint at. Most have terraces.
Junior Suite Mountain View
Junior suite layout with the room oriented toward the Sierra Nevada peaks. The combination of the suite's extra space and the mountain views is the top-of-range offering outside the full multi-room suites. Wooden beams, premium linens, private bathroom, and full mountain vista.
