W Kuala Lumpur opened in August 2018 as the W brand's first hotel in Malaysia, and it makes a statement from the start. The lobby lands on the 8th floor — floors 1-7 are all car park — and greets you with large batik motifs, bamboo-inspired chandeliers, and LED lights designed to mimic falling raindrops. A key design language is the pixel or dot, a nod to Malaysia's diverse cultures, woven into everything from wall art to furniture. All 150 rooms and suites look out over the KL skyline, and the better categories get the Petronas Twin Towers right in the frame. The dining scene is genuinely strong: YEN for modern Cantonese, FLOCK for Pan-Asian all-day grilling, and the WET Deck rooftop bar, which has earned its reputation as one of KL's better places to spend a late afternoon.

24-hour state-of-the-art gym with cardiovascular equipment, ellipticals, exercise bikes, free weights, strength equipment, treadmills, weight machines, and locker rooms. Currently temporarily relocated to Atelier on Level 8 while the regular facility undergoes a refresh.
The W Insider is a monthly Cool Hunter Guide left in-room, curated by the hotel's local insider with tips on pop-up restaurants, secret shows, and neighborhood hotspots that go beyond the usual tourist trail.
Outdoor pool on Level 12 with direct views of the Petronas Twin Towers. An impressive size for an urban hotel. The pool is not an infinity pool, but the tower backdrop more than compensates. Open 7AM–7PM daily. Only six day beds available — the rest of the seating is cafe-style chairs, so arrive early if you want a sunbed.
Monthly (occasionally bi-monthly) DJ club nights at WET Deck on Level 12. The pool bar transforms into a fully fledged rooftop party. Smart casual dress. Check the hotel's Facebook Events page for the current schedule before arrival.
