Yndo
Owner-curated art-collector's home energy. Bold design and contemporary art layered over 19th-century bones — high ceilings, moldings, exposed beams — without a trace of corporate polish. Intimate and personal, not showy.
The Secret Room is garden-level and reached via elevator to '-1' — perfect for guests wanting isolation, but it's only 20 m2.
Why It Matters
One of very few truly owner-run 5-star boutique hotels in Bordeaux. Agnès Guiot du Doignon personally sourced every piece of furniture and art, from whale-tail chairs by Hubert Le Gall to a custom walnut 'Cloud' table by Autoban. Listed in the Michelin Guide and Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice. Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Agnès Guiot du Doignon took a 19th-century hôtel particulier a few blocks from Bordeaux's Golden Triangle and turned it into one of the city's most personal hotels. Twenty individually styled rooms — not one alike — showcase pieces from Tom Dixon, Hubert Le Gall, and Autoban alongside original works by local artist Yannick Fournié. The restaurant serves guests only, the inner courtyard has a magnificent magnolia, and Agnès is very likely to be around.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Bicycles available to hotel guests free of charge for exploring Bordeaux's city center and riverfront. Staff provide their own curated 'Things to do in Bordeaux' guide to accompany the rides.
The hotel team put together a bespoke 'Things to do in Bordeaux' itinerary covering points of interest, recommended restaurants, wine bars, and local neighborhoods. Staff also make personalized restaurant reservations — multiple guest reviews cite this as a standout service.
Agnes's 'thirteenth room' — a redesigned 60 m2 oyster-farm hut on the port of Piraillan at Cap Ferret, bookable as a standalone stay. Terrace of 20 m2, fully equipped kitchen, double bed (180 cm), convertible sofa, walk-in shower, bath open to the room, 2 bikes, and fresh breakfast provisions. Colors inspired by the sands and waters of Arcachon Bay. Adjacent to oyster farms, beaches, and the Dune du Pilat.
At the end of the day, guests can take aperitifs in the lush inner courtyard — a glass of Bordeaux wine, grissini, and homemade mini pizzas served under the branches of a magnolia tree. A very Bordeaux way to transition from sightseeing to dinner.
