Good to Know
Use Neighborhood Hubs, Not Individual Sights
Think in terms of clusters—Borough/South Bank, Shoreditch, Soho, Regent’s Park—rather than chasing single attractions across town. Once you land in a neighborhood, give yourself 1–3 hours of unscheduled wandering time to duck into side streets, courtyards, and small galleries.
Vegetarian Ordering in Pubs & Wine Bars
Many pubs and wine bars have at least one veggie main (often a pie, burger, or pasta) and plenty of sides, but check for ‘V’ or ‘VE’ symbols on the menu and ask specifically about stocks, gravies, and cheeses if you avoid rennet. Staff are used to vegetarians—be clear and they’ll usually suggest easy tweaks.
Photography Timing & Etiquette
London’s best light is early morning and the hour before sunset; big sites like the South Bank, Tower Bridge, and Soho are far quieter before 10am or just after dinner. Be mindful about tripods (some spots like certain bridges or busy pavements may restrict them), and always ask before taking close-up shots of market vendors or performers.

Borough Market (Vegetarian-Friendly Stalls Cluster)
Legendary food market with many clearly vegetarian options: try Gujarati Rasoi for vegetarian Indian dishes, Juma Kitchen’s vegetarian mezze when available, Bread Ahead for cheese breads and doughnuts, Kappacasein’s toasted cheese sandwiches (vegetarian version with no meat), and Turnips for seasonal vegetable-based plates. All these stalls clearly mark meat-free options and are used to serving vegetarians.

Bankside & South Bank Golden Hour Walk
From Borough Market, wander past Southwark Cathedral, the riverside by Shakespeare’s Globe, and continue towards the Southbank Centre. At sunset, photograph the skyline with St Paul’s, the Shard, and bridges in layered light; later, capture long-exposure shots of the London Eye and Houses of Parliament from the South Bank side. Indoor bad-weather backup: duck into Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall for dramatic interior shots and free viewing level.
