Taman' in February
Not the best time
Still deep winter, but Maslenitsa brings some life to the town. February remains one of the toughest months for visitors unless you're specifically chasing winter archaeology.
Weather
February keeps the winter grip tight with occasional snowfall and persistent cold. The days start getting noticeably longer, but don't expect any warmth yet. Mornings can be particularly brutal with frost coating everything.

All Months
May through September gives you the best weather, but each month has its personality. May brings wildflowers across the steppes and comfortable temperatures around 20°C. June and July get hot - often hitting 35°C - but the sea is perfect for swimming. August can be sweltering, but it's harvest season at the wineries. September is ideal: warm days, cool evenings, and the summer crowds have gone home. Winter here is harsh and most tourist sites close. The archaeological museum stays open year-round, but you'll miss the outdoor excavations and boat trips to nearby ruins.
