Taman' in July
Great time to visit
July brings peak summer conditions - hot but manageable if you plan around the heat. Expect higher prices and busier sites, but also the fullest range of activities and events.
Weather
July cranks up the heat with hot, dry days typical of the southern Russian steppe. Temperatures regularly exceed 30°C with intense sun and very little rain. Humidity stays moderate, making the heat more bearable than coastal areas.

- •Book accommodations months ahead for peak summer demand
All Months
May through September gives you the best weather, but each month has its personality. May brings wildflowers across the steppes and comfortable temperatures around 20°C. June and July get hot - often hitting 35°C - but the sea is perfect for swimming. August can be sweltering, but it's harvest season at the wineries. September is ideal: warm days, cool evenings, and the summer crowds have gone home. Winter here is harsh and most tourist sites close. The archaeological museum stays open year-round, but you'll miss the outdoor excavations and boat trips to nearby ruins.
