Hinu Bay
Spare, architectural, slow-paced. Think less resort buzz, more private compound. Earth tones, Omani marble, large windows. The landscape is wild and dramatic rather than manicured.
Book a Deluxe Pool Villa on the sunrise side of the resort — you get lagoon views, alfresco stargazing, and an outdoor bathtub with no one watching
Why It Matters
One of very few luxury resorts in southern Oman's Dhofar region, and the only one with this level of architectural ambition. The property's commitment to Omani vernacular design and its farm-to-table orchard dining give it a genuine sense of place. World of Hyatt Category 5 property.
Alila Hinu Bay opened in 2021 across 45 hectares of rugged southwest Omani coastline, near the historic fishing town of Mirbat. Designed by Qatari architect Ibrahim Jaidah of Arab Engineering Bureau, it's a serious piece of architecture: Omani marble facades, falaj water channels threading through the grounds, and shaded archway corridors that echo Dhofari settlements without looking like a theme park. The 96 rooms and 16 pool villas sit along the resort's natural contours, framing views of desert, a calm lagoon, or the open Arabian Sea. It's genuinely remote — about 75km from Salalah airport — and that's the whole point.
