Why It Matters
First hotel in Slovenia to receive a Michelin Key. It combines two serious dining names under one roof (the 35-year-old Gostilna AS and Ana Roš's JAZ), the rooms are genuinely spacious by European city standards, and the rooftop Jacuzzi with Ljubljana Castle views is hard to beat. The interior was designed by Ofis Architects with Janja Bulc handling interiors — it's been hired out for photoshoots.
A family-owned boutique hotel that opened in 2023, built quite literally on top of its own legacy: Gostilna AS, the family's acclaimed restaurant, has been feeding Ljubljana for 35 years and sits directly below the lobby. The hotel's timber-slat façade — slatted like a modernist shutter blind — signals what's inside: bold Slovenian Pop art, striped chaises-longues, vintage finds, and parquet floors throughout 30 generously sized rooms. The rooftop terrace has a Jacuzzi and direct sightlines to Ljubljana Castle, and JAZ by Ana Roš (Slovenia's most famous chef) handles breakfast and beyond.

Bicycle rentals available through the hotel, ideal for exploring Ljubljana's flat, largely car-free city centre and the nearby Tivoli Park.
A 50-minute ride on a handcrafted wooden vessel along the Ljubljanica. Runs seasonally — October departures are every full hour from 11am (or 12pm late October), last boat at 5pm. Also available for private romantic rides or wine tasting events.
