A 15th-century Dominican monastery that became Lecce's only boutique hotel. The bones of the convent are all still here: soaring stone archways, colorful frescoes, a crypt accessible off the portico, and a central cloister with ten ogival arches per side that stops guests in their tracks. Eighteen rooms occupy what were once the monks' cells, now fitted out with king beds, earth-toned minimalist decor, and private balconies overlooking the cloister. The on-site Gimmi Restaurant holds a Michelin listing and draws non-guests on its own merits.

The entry category, and still worth it. These rooms keep the original footprint of the old monastic cells — not large, but you are sleeping in a 15th-century convent cell, which earns its own points. King size bed, simple and tasteful furniture, first-floor position reached via the big terrace overlooking the monastery. Can be used as a single room.

The upgrade that most guests recommend: spacious, luminous, and with a private balcony looking directly onto the cloister. You get the full monastery-conversion experience here. Original cell structure is retained, but the proportions are generous and the cloister view is the main event.
