Condesa DF
Upscale boho — bold floral prints, curving acrylic furniture, dark wooden floors, and the kind of monastic-room simplicity that somehow still feels warm. Hip without being precious. Local crowd mixes freely with guests.
Corner Suite 03.02 is the top pick among regulars — 180° views and a proper French-style bathtub at 44 sqm
Why It Matters
One of the first true boutique design hotels in Mexico City, conceived by Grupo Habita founders Carlos Couturier and Moisés Micha. Listed in the 2020 Condé Nast Traveler Gold List. Interior design by India Mahdavi, architecture by Javier Sánchez, art by Betsabeé Romero. The rooftop terrace bar is a genuine local gathering spot — not a hotel afterthought.
Condesa DF occupies a heritage-protected 1928 French neo-classical building on the exact street that divides La Condesa from La Roma — two of Mexico City's most architecturally rich and walkable neighborhoods. The hotel has 40 rooms entirely dressed by Parisian designer India Mahdavi, whose brief was to bring Europe to Mexicans and Mexico to foreigners simultaneously. Everything revolves around a dramatic triangular central patio rimmed by three floors of white shutters, with room walkways facing inward so guests are always part of the scene. Bedrooms run chocolate brown and moss green where lesser design hotels would default to white.
