An 18th-century henequen hacienda turned 54-suite resort, sitting 15 minutes north of downtown Mérida on the road to Progreso. The property has serious bones — colonial arcades, a working chapel, original stone machinery still built into the walls of the restaurant, and four acres of private tropical gardens. Angsana took over management and pushed it into genuine luxury territory: three pools including a full Olympic-length one with Balinese loungers, a brand-new spa pavilion floating above a lily pond, and rooms ranging from contemporary new-build suites to historic hacienda quarters with canopy beds and outdoor bathtubs.
