Hotel VIU Milan opened in 2017 as a 5-star design hotel in the Porta Volta neighborhood, framed by a dramatic vertical garden climbing its glass-and-steel façade. The brainchild of the Viscardi brothers, it was designed by Nicola Gallizia of Studio Gallizia — parquet oak floors, dark walnut panelling, bespoke Molteni & C furniture — and built by architects Arassociati using eco-friendly materials. The big draw is the eighth-floor rooftop: the only outdoor hotel pool in Milan with full 360° city views. Michelin-starred chef Giancarlo Morelli runs the kitchen.
