Konventa Sēta Hotel Keystone Collection
Historic bones with clean contemporary interiors. Think parquet floors, wooden furniture, high ceilings in some rooms, and sober Latvian design rather than fussy ornamentation. The multi-building layout means your room could be in the Forge & Stables, the Monastery Gate, or the Garden House — each with slightly different character. Quiet and residential-feeling despite being dead-centre Old Town.

Why It Matters
One of Riga's only hotels occupying a genuine medieval complex (certified architectural monument of national importance). The courtyard has three separate entrances into different Old Town streets, giving guests unusual access to the city's historic core. Post-2023 renovation means the building is historical but nothing inside feels shabby. The on-site Two More Beers brewery restaurant and Cruffins café are genuinely popular with locals too.
Konventa Sēta is a 4-star Superior hotel spread across six medieval buildings in Riga's Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex dates back to the 13th century and was originally established by German crusaders, functioning variously as a castle and convent before its 1996 reopening as a hotel. A six-year renovation completed in August 2023 brought 161 fully modernised rooms, a beer restaurant that pours 120 varieties, and the only cruffin bakery in Riga, all wrapped in exposed brick, arched corridors, and a quiet inner courtyard you can cut through to reach St. Peter's Church or Dome Square on foot.
