Why It Matters

Michelin 1 Key awarded. One of very few true art-hotel experiences in southern Italy. The property spans three buildings including the on-site Fiermonte Museum with four immersive artist suites. Opened in 2015 and has become the benchmark for luxury stays in Lecce's historic center.

A 17th-century masseria at the edge of Lecce's old town, La Fiermontina is a 19-room art-hotel that a brother-sister team (Fouad Giacomo and Antonia Yasmina Filali) built as a tribute to their grandmother, artist Antonia Fiermonte. The garden borders the original 16th-century city walls, with 400-year-old olive trees and sculpture scattered around the outdoor pool. Rooms mix original stone floors, vaulted ceilings, and pieces from the owners' private art collection — including works by Le Corbusier and Tobia Scarpa.
