Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt
Belle Époque grandeur meets contemporary design. High ceilings, crystal chandeliers, Persian rugs and original frescoes in the Palace wing. Clean lines and city views in the Posadas tower. The garden courtyard between them is the social heart of the whole property.
Request a room in the Palace wing for the full historic experience — the Posadas rooms are more contemporary and face the building, which is great, but the Palace rooms have the original moldings and chandeliers
Why It Matters
The Palace building is a declared national historic landmark (2002), originally designed by French architect León Dourge and opened in 1934. Hyatt took over in 2006. Two of its on-site restaurants — Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca and Gioia Cocina Botánica — are recognized by the Michelin Guide. The hotel also houses Paseo de las Artes Duhau, a private underground art gallery showcasing contemporary Argentine art.
A restored 1934 French neoclassical palace on Recoleta's most prestigious avenue, connected underground to a sleek modern tower. Two very different buildings, one shared garden, and the kind of service that still makes international chains relevant. It sits between the all-antique Alvear Palace a few blocks away and the newer crop of design hotels — splitting the difference with considerable style.
