Barr Al Jissah is a sprawling three-hotel coastal resort complex set against the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman, about 40 minutes from Muscat Airport. For two decades it operated as Shangri-La's flagship Oman property; as of January 1, 2026, it transitioned entirely to Hilton management and was rebranded across all three wings. The complex now runs as Hilton Muscat Al Bandar (the events and lifestyle hub), DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha (the family-oriented wing), and Al Husn Hotel Muscat (the clifftop adults-only retreat, set for a Waldorf Astoria rebrand in 2027).

The resort employs a dedicated turtle ranger to protect green turtle nests on Turtle Beach. Guests can register at check-in for a room call if turtles come ashore. Best chance of seeing nesting or hatching: January to August.
