Why It Matters
The only hotel in the world occupying an active broadcast tower structure, with the building's original iron lattice running through guestrooms as a design feature. A registered Japanese tangible cultural property that now sleeps 28 guests maximum. Every surface, from the tableware to the room key card, is made by a named Tokai-region artist or craftsperson.
The world's first hotel built inside a television tower. Nagoya's 1954 TV tower — a registered tangible cultural property and the tallest tower in Asia at the time of its construction — was converted into a 14-room adults-only boutique hotel in October 2020. The original steel support beams cut diagonally through the walls, floors, and ceilings of the guestrooms. Every room is curated with original artwork by Tokai-region artists, and no two rooms are alike.

Room L06 at 57 sqm — the largest non-terrace room category. Corner positioning means windows on two sides, both facing the forest. Artwork by Hiraki Sawa, a well-known video and installation artist. A significant step up in space from the standard rooms without going to the full terrace suite.

Room S14 on the 5th floor — 80 sqm including an outdoor terrace. Accessed via stairs only (no elevator to the 5th floor). Twin beds in suite configuration. Artwork by Masao Shirasawa throughout. The terrace is a private outdoor space looking toward the forest side of the park. This is as far as you can get from a cookie-cutter hotel room.

Two rooms (L02 Universal, L03) at 37 sqm with forest-side views. L02 is the property's universal access room. Each is curated with artwork by a different artist — Asuka Miyata for L02, Shin Morikita for L03. The iron frame of the tower cuts through the walls and ceiling, which is the whole point.

One guestroom on the 4th floor is transformed into a rotating art installation space that guests can sleep in. No TV, no sofa — just the bed, bathroom amenities, and art pieces by Tokai-region artists. Exhibitions rotate on a themed schedule. Limited to a set number of guests per day. The most stripped-back and conceptually interesting room in the hotel.

Room L10 at 57 sqm — the park-side equivalent of the Forest Corner Suite. Corner positioning gives park views on two sides. Artwork and photography by Mikiya Takimoto, a photographer known for automotive and product work. Guests who've stayed here consistently highlight the corner park views.

Room S15 — the top-tier accommodation at 80 sqm including a private terrace looking directly over Hisaya Odori Park. Two large twin beds (1400mm wide each). Views are of the tower's internal structure rather than the park.

The 4th floor Gallery Room hosts rotating themed exhibitions by Tokai-region artists covering painting, photography, sculpture, videography, ceramics, calligraphy, and textiles. Related workshops are held on-site. Open to hotel guests; public access details vary by exhibition.
After 22:00, hotel guests gain exclusive access to the rooftop salon at the top of the Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER. Panoramic nighttime views over Hisaya Odori Park and the Sakae district. Open until 02:00. Not available to the general public — confirmed as a guest-only perk mentioned in multiple reviews.
