Spring and fall hit the sweet spot. April through June brings perfect weather for bar hopping without sweating through your shirt. September and October offer the same comfortable temperatures plus fewer tourists clogging the sidewalks. Summer gets sticky and crowded – the outdoor patios pack with recent college grads and the streets smell like garbage by Sunday morning. Winter kills the outdoor scene but indoor bars stay lively. Just bundle up for that walk from the Metro. Weekends obviously bring the biggest crowds. Thursday nights offer a good compromise – enough energy to feel alive but you can actually move through Madam's Organ without getting elbowed.
