Agadir in January

Good time to visit

January offers some of the year's best weather without the summer crowds. The Atlantic can be chilly for swimming, but it's ideal for exploring the Anti-Atlas mountains nearby.

Weather

January brings mild, comfortable weather to Agadir with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures hover in the pleasant 20s during the day, dropping to around 8°C at night. You'll see maybe 3-4 rainy days, but nothing too dramatic.

All Months

Agadir's weather is its biggest selling point – this place stays pleasant when the rest of Morocco is either freezing or melting. March through May is perfect. Temperatures hover around 22-25°C, the Atlantic isn't too cold for swimming, and you avoid the summer crowds. September through November works just as well – still warm enough for beach days but with fewer families now that school's back in session. Summer gets hot but not unbearable, thanks to ocean breezes. July and August see temperatures around 28°C, but European families pack the beaches and hotel prices spike. Winter is mild but can be windy. December through February brings occasional rain, but you'll have the place mostly to yourself and hotel rates drop by 40%. The surf is actually better in winter if you're into that. Here's what the guidebooks won't tell you: the best weather often happens in late October when summer heat breaks but winter winds haven't started.
